Perivascular Dermatitis

Perivascular dermatitis is a common dermatitis, which develops around the body's blood vessels. The body is subject to skin disorders as in ordinary dermatitis. This skin disorder has a multitude of factors, which aggravate the skin. It includes agents that are comparatively similar to those affecting dermatitis.

Factors Causing Perivascular Dermatitis

Among many factors that contribute to this typical skin disorder is the overuse of irritants and allergens. In addition, environmental factors cause the skin to react against allergens.  

The disorder does not always show and may disappear soon after it shows. Since it is a genetically transmitted skin disease, no one can stop it from exhibiting itself. All a person may do is trying managing its effects such as itchiness, inflammation and other symptoms.

Perivascular Dermatitis Treatment

One effective way for prevention of perivascular dermatitis is avoiding use of irritants and allergens altogether that may damage the skin. People may contact the disease due to many elements and substances in the house such as solvents, shampoos, rugs and soaps.

For patients whose skin is sensitive to such allergens, it is advisable they keep away from them. The treatment to overcome this skin disorder varies according to the dermatitis type an individual is suffering from. Treatment involves application of topical hydrocortisone and corticosteroids along with selenium sulfide, ketoconazole, zinc pyrithione and tar. Patients need to treat their scalp with these medications for control of flakes other than controlling inflammation of the skin.

Perivascular dermatitis is a curable skin disease. The inflammation that results due to contacting this disease may be dermal as well as epidermal accompanied with intense itching.
